  Programme Description
  In this programme, through classroom and laboratory experience, you gain in-depth knowledge of the components and systems making up the global telecommunications network. Starting with the basics of electronics, electrical and computing, you learn about the media and devices transporting as well as directing communication signals through that network. You will become familiar with up-to-the-minute technology and develop the tools necessary to work with future advances.
You will receive an excellent foundation in the fundamentals of telecommunications, including satellite and mobile communications, digital media broadcasting, broad-band technologies and internetworking. You will gain exposure to industry-best practices, thus equipping you with the latest techniques for successfully implementing and using a telecommunication system.
     

  Programme Aims
     
  To provide graduates with relevant skills for the growing local electronics and telecommunication industries as well as other commercial and industrial companies in support of the emerging ICT industry
  To enable graduates to secure employment so that they can make a valuable contribution in planning, designing, operating, installing, configuring and maintaining electronics and telecommunication systems
  To develop the ability of graduates to analyze and solve systems, IT problems and enhance their communications skills
     
 
 
Career Prospects  
Graduates will have acquired cutting-edge knowledge and skills in telecommunication technologies. They will also have developed effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and essential business and management attributes, making them attractive to employers in all sub-sectors of the telecommunications industry. They may also find employment in the design, manufacture and supply of telecommunication products, systems and services and establish their own businesses.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 
DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
SPM (with 3 credits) in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications.
For information Technology & Telecommunication Technology a credit in Mathematics.
For Electrical & Electronic Engineering, a credit in Mathematics or UEC 3B inclusive of Mathematics is required.
Certificate in the relevant field approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
   
DEGREE
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
For Engineering, STPM or A Level with 3 principal passes inclusive of Mathematics and Physical Science.
For Information Technology, STPM or A Level with 2 principal passes inclusive of Pengajian Am.
Diploma or A-Levels, Foundation courses, Matriculation, Pre University and other equivalent qualifications and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM.
Completed Foundation Programme in the relevant field approved by MOHE.
Other equivalent qualifications.
