  Programme Description
   
  The Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering programme ensures that students advance in their career with the necessary skills and an understanding of every aspect of electronic-based technology and computer applications of engineering. It also explores advanced mathematics, computing, practical engineering skills and industrial applications to groom a student to be ready for employment or higher studies.

  To equip students with advanced skills and practical knowledge in engineering
  To produce graduates who can fill the demand for qualified electrical and electronics engineers to support the emerging ICT organisations
  To provide graduates who can make valuable contributions in planning, designing, operating, installing, configuring and maintaining electronics and electrical systems

  An excellent career path awaits electrical and electronics engineers. They can be employed to support sales and marketing, as well as attaining positions of technical, managerial and commercial leadership, irrespective of the size of the company.
   
   
 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES-PEO

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES-PLO
To provide students with a broad education in electrical and electronic engineering that is built upon a solid understanding of engineering mathematics. Demonstrate mastery of the theoretical knowledge of engineering mathematics, concept and applications.
To prepare students to work with contemporary laboratory instrumentation, design and perform experiments, and analyze and interpret the results using computer and software application. Assemble electronic circuits in order to measure and analyze responses and parameters using a variety of test equipment and /or computers and software.
To prepare students to develop specialist knowledge, intellectual and practical skills that will enable them to analyse, investigate and develop robust solutions to electrical engineering problems. Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, construct, commission, and maintain electrical equipment, processes and systems.
To develop a high level of skills and knowledge in the application of basic electronic principles to the operation, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and system. Use basic problem solving skills and techniques to find solution to electronic system design and processes.
To obtain and maintain a meaningful employment in their respective disciplines and attain increasing levels of responsibility and leadership in chosen career fields with team work ability and effective communication skills. Apply skills that are necessary to function effectively as a member of an engineering team with clear communication ability, responsibilities, diversity, and teamwork.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 
Pass SPM / SPMV with 3 credits inclusive of Mathematics
Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects inclusive of Mathematics and 1 Science subject
Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia
   
Note: Specific programmes require certain subjects or other / additional qualifications to be eligible
