Programme Description

In this degree programme, you will be provided with a broad foundation in various aspects of electronic engineering with an emphasis on mathematics and physics. Your programme curriculum covers various fields of electronics engineering such as circuit and systems, electromagnetic fields and waves, instrumentation and control, digital and analog electronics, microprocessors system, electrical power system, computer architecture, communication systems, electronic system analysis and design and multimedia technology & applications.

	Programme Aims

	•	To produce qualified electronic engineers who are able to practise their profession in the broad area of electronics engineering which includes, but not limited to, integrated circuit design, industrial process automation. The scope also covers automotive electronic system, computer and fibre-optic applications and virtually any industry that uses electronic systems in its products or processes.
	•	To develop the students’ ability to analyse and solve electronic engineering problems.
	•	To enhance their leadership, entrepreneurship, and communication skills.


		Career Prospects
		Upon completion of this degree programme, graduates are able to work as Electronic Engineers, Technical Support Engineers, Design/Engineers, Research & Development Engineers, Production Engineers, Electronic Systems Engineers, Service Engineers and Sales & Marketing Engineers. Many of our past graduates have secured employment with Independent Power Producers, public utilities and industrial concerns.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
SPM (with 3 credits) in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications.
•	For information Technology & Telecommunication Technology a credit in Mathematics.
•	For Electrical & Electronic Engineering, a credit in Mathematics or UEC 3B inclusive of Mathematics is required.
•	Certificate in the relevant field approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

DEGREE
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
•	For Engineering, STPM or A Level with 3 principal passes inclusive of Mathematics and Physical Science.
•	For Information Technology, STPM or A Level with 2 principal passes inclusive of Pengajian Am.
•	Diploma or A-Levels, Foundation courses, Matriculation, Pre University and other equivalent qualifications and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM.
•	Completed Foundation Programme in the relevant field approved by MOHE.
•	Other equivalent qualifications.
