		Programme Description
		This diploma deals with the functional rehabilitation of lifestyle, work, leisure and also the physical aptitude of a patient, with an aspect of physiotherapy. By studying occupational therapy, you will develop medical knowledge and be trained to assess dysfunctions in the activity of daily living (ADL), work productivity, and leisure, including how to restore patients' movements and motivation. As a graduate of this programme, you will be able to contribute towards society by helping patients, whether able-bodied or disabled, to re-gain their full potential.

	Programme Aims

	•	To equip students with fundamental medical aptitude as well as specialized knowledge and skills in rehabilitation.
	•	To produce competent professionals who contribute in the field of occupational therapy and competently solve patients' healthcare problems.


Career Prospects
Occupational therapists are highly demanded in government and private hospitals, health clinics, day care centres, elderly care centre and special children care centres so the prospects for work are excellent. Graduates may also pursue higher education in medical science, biomedicine, biotechnology or rehabilitation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
SPM (with 3 credits) in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications.
•	For Occupational Therapy programme, a credit in Science and a pass in Mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
•	For the MLT programme, a credit in Mathematics and Science and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required or pass UEC with 1B and minimum ‘C’ for Science, Mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia and English.
•	For the Pharmacy programme, a credit in Mathematics, Science and English is required.
•	For the Physiotherapy programme, a credit in Science or Sport Science is required an a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
•	For Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy programmes, candidates should not have any disabilities that may affect their studies and future employment.
•	For Nursing programme, 5 credit inclusive of Mathematics and Science, a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
