Programme Description
 
The Diploma in Medical Imaging trains you to be a competent diagnostic radiographer capable of the expert use of radiation systems for identifying diseases and/or injuries of patients. The Diploma of Medical Imaging, on the other hand, trains you to be a qualified radiation therapist in using radiation to treat diseases such as cancer.

 

  Programme Aims
     
  Provide graduates with a foundation in radiation medicine, biological and behavioural sciences for understanding human biology and diseases.
  Develop the ability to integrate knowledge with clinical skills and judgment to implement diagnostic procedures or radiation treatment depending on their specialization.
  Develop the ability to analyse images and provide a quality assurance programme for the department.
  Provide the knowledge and skills to use computers and research methods in their work.
     
 
 
  Career Prospects
 
 
Upon completion of this programme, graduates can work as a diagnostic radiographer who is capable of the use of radiation system in identifying diseases and injuries of patients whether in public or private hospitals.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 
DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
SPM (with 3 credits) in any subjects or other equivalent qualifications.
For Occupational Therapy programme, a credit in Science and a pass in Mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
For the MLT programme, a credit in Mathematics and Science and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required or pass UEC with 1B and minimum ‘C’ for Science, Mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia and English.
For the Pharmacy programme, a credit in Mathematics, Science and English is required.
For the Physiotherapy programme, a credit in Science or Sport Science is required an a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
For Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy programmes, candidates should not have any disabilities that may affect their studies and future employment.
For Nursing programme, 5 credit inclusive of Mathematics and Science, a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
