		Programme Description
		Landscape architecture is a profession that emphasizes integration of people with an external environment to provide benefits and vice versa. It combines art, design, planning or management of land and layout elements of the natural and built environment. This combination is achieved through implementing cultural characteristics and scientific knowledge to provide a comfortable environment. The Landscape Architecture Diploma Programme provides students with the solid knowledge necessary to produce a competent landscape designer. The landscape
designer helps to support architects and landscape architects with their specialised knowledge in landscape architecture theories, principles and methods for creating a sustainable landscape design with an emphasis on functional and aesthetic values in the design environment. Approaches to actual integration of projects are also used to facilitate the students in practising design methods in landscape architecture. During the design process, critical thinking and decision-making are highly emphasized in order to generate creativity and innovation. Through this practice, students are trained to become an independent landscape designers and a capable team member in the real-life landscape architecture profession.

	•	To provide students with trend-setting knowledge and skills in meeting emerging challenges and expectations.
	•	To develop students the highest standards of disciplinary and professionalism and cultivating lifelong learning.


Career Prospects
With the encouragement of green policies in commercial projects, career prospects are excellent. Graduates will be qualified to work in Landscape Consulting Company, Landscape Contractors Company, Finishing Materials Company, Nursery and Gardens, Landscape Maintenance Company, Local Authority (Landscape), Botanical Gardens, Resource Management.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
•	SPM with 3 credits and a pass in Mathematics and Art Studies. Candidates without Art Studies in SPM are required to attend an interview to present their artwork.
•	For Landscape Architecture, SPM/SPMV/‘O’ Level with 3 credit inclusive of Mathematics or UEC with 3B inclusive of Mathematics.
•	For Architecture, SPM with 3 credit inclusive of Mathematics.
•	Other equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution of higher learning.
