Programme Description

The course deals with the technology, design, production and delivery of multimedia products. The programme will equip you with multimedia theory and practical skills and their appropriate technical competencies. Under this programme, you will perform to your fullest potential in multimedia areas; thus, your employability after graduation is ensured. You will design and develop multimedia and internet applications while acquiring
essential skills in programming and authoring. Your tutors will offer guidance in integrating both artistic and technical expertise to develop compelling multimedia products. At the same time, you will become self-motivated and competent in designing, developing and utilizing multimedia, as well as perfect your thinking skills. Through a thorough emphasis on ideas and concepts, visual communication theories, and hands-on rendering skills, you will be able to conceptualize, produce, promote and present ideas for multimedia material outcomes.

	•	To inculcate the knowledge, skills and habits required for successfully working in today’s fast-paced interactive media environment
	•	To enable graduates to function as part of a vibrant team and cope with common problems that may arise, especially in the management process
	•	To offer hands-on training in analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance
	•	To give graduates an in-depth understanding of the real working world through practical training


		Career Prospects
		Upon completion of this programme, graduates are able to work as multimedia developers and designers, multimedia programmers, web designers, web developers, animators and video & audio editors.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

DIPLOMA
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
•	SPM with 3 credits and a pass in Art Studies. Candidates without Art Studies in SPM are required to attend an interview to present their artwork.
•	Other equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution of higher learning.

Foundation in Design
•	SPM (with 5 credits) in any subject or
•	Other equivalent qualifications.

DEGREE
Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:
•	STPM (with 2 principal passes) including Pengajian Am or Diploma, A-Levels, Foundation courses, Matriculation, Pre University and other equivalent qualifications and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM.
•	Other equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution of higher learning.
