	Programme Description


	The Diploma in Fashion Design offers a professional pathway into the world of glamorous fashion industry. The structure provides a comprehensive course that enables a student to develop an individual approach to commercial viability. Students are also encouraged to participate in major shows and exhibitions, such as Malaysian International Fashion Alliance (MIFA), Malaysian Official Designer Association (MODA) and the Batik Guild, all aimed at providing valuable practical experience in confronting with challenges in the real fashion arena.

	Programme Aims

	•	To equip students with both technical knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for a successful career in the fashion industry
	•	To develop students’ ability to conceptualise and produce designs of international standards that meet the trends of the fashion market
	•	To introduce students to the fashion trade

	Career Prospects

	A graduate can work as a designer, fashion buyer, merchandiser, illustrator, fashion journalist, fabric or colour researcher, stylists, etc.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

•	SPM / SPMV with 3 credits in any subjects and pass Art subject
•	Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects
•	Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Government of Malaysia
•	Pass drawing test/interview conducted by KLMUC for students without art subjects in SPM.

	Note: Specific Diploma programmes require certain subjects or other additional qualifications in order to be eligible.
